Is it normal to call people baby online?

A friend I only know online and I always end our conversations with something along the lines of "Bye baby, I love you" even though we aren't in any kind of relationship with each other. I've never even heard his voice. He's not attracted to men, I'm pansexual but I don't have any attraction to him.

Oded here, this is a simple case of how the human race communicate. It's just the way he speaks as do yourself. So just go with the flow. Keep it as it is.

    Oded....out

If you don't love him why say it?

I think there's a huge difference between saying, "Bye baby, I love you" and "Bye baby, love you (or ya)". The first one is very personal and would indicate deep affection, but the second is casual and shouldn't be misread to indicate deep affection. I don't think the baby is of any consequence, though.
