Is it normal to call older cousins aunt and uncle?

My mom was born way after her two brothers so by the time I was born their kids, my cousins, were mostly over 20 years old. I have always called them Aunt or Uncle just cause they are a lot older. Plus calling someone Cousin just seems weird. Is this normal?

    My cousins are all very close in age to me, but if they were decades older I'd probably do the same.

    It's common here. We call the elderly aunt or uncle. There's an old lady who I call Cousin Odile.
