Is it normal to calculatedly use caffeine before being physically active?
I have Anxiety and Major Depression. I only say so because I'm very sensitive to energy supplements, they can make me aggressive, confrontational, irrationally nervous and as described by a psychiatrist, hyper-manic. From the time I was a baby I had been allowed to drink soda and coffee, no big deal a sip of Pepsi here and there, whatever. When school and home life got to be too much (walking 2 miles from home to school, then cleaning every room in our house everyday) I learned in school caffeine can give you boosts of energy so from then on when I had to do all this physically demanding stuff, I'd have a large black coffee, a can of Jolt what ever had the highest dose. Since then I just can't even motivate to do physical things. I stopped using all stimulants for about five years and I am not going to clean my fridge unless I use an energy supplement and turn on music. If anyone I knew had given me stuff like Adderall, I know I would have become addicted. Now years later I'm 24 and I live quietly, never rushing my self or trying to take on more than is wise. I drink caffeine on purpose to do things like cleaning for spring inspections and doing laundry but I try live as tranquilly as possible for my mental health.
Still, even though a small cup of coffee can keep me awake for two days, I feel like I'm supposed to do what other people are doing, having 2 and 3 jobs, going to the gym, socializing, visiting their parents, doing laundry all in one day. Is this weird, do other people do this?
