Is it normal to be young and feel nostalgic all the time?

I've had powerful feelings of nostalgia ever since I was a young child. When I was no more than 9, I often talked to a close friend about "the good old days" when I was in preschool. I continued on this path throughout my life and now, at age 21, I feel nostalgic for the times when I was 12 - 13, and 17.

Especially when things are bad, people tend to dream about times when things were (or possibly will be) better, or for some, an entirely different life altogether. It's a form of escapism, and everyone at one point has probably found themselves wanting something better (or different) in life.

Totally normal! Majority of people either have their attention focused on the past or future. I believe that there is not a single person who does not or has not felt this way. The only individuals that do truly live in the vry present moment are highly advanced such as yogis, gurus and monks.
