Is it normal to be upset that my fiance's sisters all recently converted to

veganism?

He has three sisters, all of them just recently pledged to become a vegan like their mom (their mom was vegan since she was 18).

His sisters are 16, 17 and 19. They live in another state with their mom so I haven't even met them yet but I talk to them. Anyway, I am going to meet them soon and for months now, I had all these ideas on amazing places to take them to eat since they say the food is crap there but now I can't. They tell me they only eat salad, fruit, tofu and nuts. I also make all these chicken dishes that my family have always loved over there years. I wanted to make it for them but they just converted about 6 months ago.

I'm so bummed they won't be able to taste anything good over here because there are so many good steak, hamburgers and chicken meals that I know they'd love. All three of them were hamburger and chicken lovers before, they used to say "I love this, I love that, this is my favorite meal" and now they are against it.

They don't eat pasta either, just fruit and vegetables and I asked if they'd at least try a chicken meal and they said nope, never again even though it's probably amazing.

This hurts me because I love to cook and now I can't ever cook for them. I was once a chef, too and made the chicken dishes that customers raved about. Even a top chef in the area complimented me...

Is it normal it bothers me so much? Cooking meat dishes/pasta dishes is my thing.

They don't eat cake either, at all so can never bake for them.

It's normal. But maybe you can look at it as an opportunity to learn new cooking skills and cook up some awesome vegan dishes.

Hey, it's their loss, not yours.
For most who try the vegan thing, it's just a fad and passes, so don't worry. Soon enough you'll be able to cook your little heart out and life will be good, again.

OMG!!! They're such heartless monsters, they converted to "Veganism" and now u can't cook/bake anything for them! How selfish of them!
Ok, I'n just being sarcastic. It's ok. Just take it easy. I mean, don't cook for'em! They're the only ones missing sth.
I mean, if ur cooking is as good as u say it is, many ppl would wanna eat it, u know?

Yes it's normal. But not much you can do about it.

I used to know some raw vegans who were always laying food guilt trips on every single person they come into contact with.
They also always took the moral and health high ground and constantly evangelised for veganism and raw food. Good for them. But it's like religion, keep it to yourself, no need to shove it down peoples' throats.
