Is it normal to be upset about someone hitting on your partner?

So there was this guy and they like the person I am dating. They make it very obvious too. Like if I start talking to my partner this and my partner says "I love you" this guy will say "I in a bad mood I dont feel like talking to you anymore and leave".

They are making it plain as day they like my partner and being butthurt about the fact they cant get with them. More than one person has noticed and commented on this too.

My partner says "Oh of course not they dont like me, they are not like that". Which today they said they we talking to this person when I was not around and said "Yes I think they like me". Now I am kind of pissed off by this.

My partner than says "Oh its nothing dont worry" and I really aggravated since she still doesn't get what hes doing. I about ready to leave over this bullshit. Am I justified? Should I try to stay? Should I try harder to chase him off? What should I do?

Authors Note: I used They as to not specify any of our genders other than the GUY for personal reasons.

    I don't mind random guys chatting up my girlfriend in a bar or whatever when I'm not around as she is gorgeous and it should be expected. If it was happening blatantly in front of me with the person knowing full well she is mine then that would be a problem, you have to get up in their face and tell them to step the fuck back.

      I did and my partner said that I am worrying for nothing, they are a great guy, and not doing anything wrong, that I just have trust issues and its perfectly acceptable to still be hanging around this person.

    Trust is an absolute imperative in a relationship. If you trust HER, then it doesn't matter what this, or any other guy has in mind or does.

      That literally already happened. We broke up and they got a new partner and we stopped talking when I came back and said "I am happy for you" they dumped that partner to get back with me.
