Is it normal to be turned on from someone who is physically helpless?

I know I like bondage, not a question. My BF and I have this game going where we tie each other up and see if the person can escape within the set time limit (which is three hours by the way). Last time it was his turn and I went all out making sure there would be no escape at all. Everything was going great until I got a family emergency call. Now being the stupid person I was, I ran out the door leaving him in the house to stew in his own thoughts...

While I realize it was stupid of me to leave him there like that (for the amount of time that it was), It turned me on to see that a) he was still as I left him, b) he was out cold (he hit his head really hard against the backboard of the bed), and c) his wrists and ankles were all red and bleeding a bit. Is this a normal thing?
