Is it normal to be submissive to a cat?

So I just got my first cat a month ago. Its a he and american mainecoon and few months old. like any cat it likes to be petted. But if I am scratching his neck and get bored and about to take off my hand he hits me with his paw but with no claws. If I am rubbing his belly and stop he grabs my hand with both his arms and bites but not hardly. Isnt it me whos suppose to be the master here? What the fuck?

        You should've seen the look he gave me when I dominated his scratching post...

        Sometimes I'll bring dead deer or bison to the back door as a gift so he feels ashamed of his pathetic little mouse. And to really make it hit home, I ask if it's in yet when he tries to bring it inside...

    One of my boyfriend's dogs directs your hand where to scratch if you stop.

    I could always get up and walk away. It doesn't mean shes in charge. She's just communicating that she wants more scratches and where.
