Is it normal to be so narcissistic?

I have this gay friend who always says "hello gorgeous" when he looks in a mirror at himself. He'll always carry a mirror in his pocket so he can check his hair and even when we're out to dinner eating mushrooms, he'll say "hello gorgeous" and people all turn and look at us. It's kind of embarrassing.

He not only does this but when we go shopping, he'll put on a shirt, come out of the fitting room and be like, "damn how hot do I look? i'd rate me gorgeous!" and then go back in.

Other times he'll see a cute guy, walk over and say "i absolutely love your shirt, you look amazing but not as amazing as me! how about you give me your number?"

I don't get it. He also talks about how if he were queen, he'd be the hottest queen in existence and how his body and face are flawless.
