Is it normal to be really annoyed at people who type ect. instead of etc.?

It's been happening way too often to be merely a spelling error. It annoys me that so many people would use a word without bothering to learn the first thing about it. Etc. stands for et cetera, ECT means electroconvulsive therapy!

ETC. or ECT. are short-hands for words and are created by opinion, not by grammar rule. However, Spelling/Grammar error's bug the living shit out of me too so you are normal.

Antidisestablishmentarianism - a 'common' term used to label those people that were against the people that were against the disestablishment of the Church of England, that is, to remove the Anglican Church's status as the Church of England.

Antidisestablishmentetceteranism - a 'common' term used to label those people that are against the people that dissaprove of others who use the incorrect spelling of either ect or subsequently etc in conjuction with the term et cetera.

    NickNick...you are toooo funny!!

Yeah I know what you mean though. For me it's more of speaking. Like saying deaf for meaning death. Or saying birfday instead of birthday.

if you are a fast typist, then it's just the right letters in the wrong order, not necessarily spelling or not knowing.

I've done it before. It's no big deal I just can't ever remember which way it's supposed to go. I get annoyed at some dumb things and just because of a spelling error doesn't mean that the person doesn't understand what the word is.
