  • Well I'm English but I was 17 with depression and getting support (which I wanted to decline but was forced to have) from the government etc.

I was also on antidepressants, so it's normal. This sort of thing can strike anyone at any time.

I started getting mine when I was 17 because I was tending a school for kids that have mental illnesses.I have a housing stipend, food stamps, medicaid and medicare. If You're looking to save mucho money got some words for Ya -Lock Box- and keep it in a safe and secure place where only you know of it coz if You go over $2K in the bank and they're doing their secret audits they can FINE You Big Time. they'll tell You the bank is the safest place for Your money but You'll be finding Yourself saving it to pay the government.

People of any age can have disabilities. So being on SSI is normal if you have a disability. Unless you are lying about your disability. In which case you have committed frod.

Whoa, that's drastic. Maybe your really really depressed, but I've been dealing with manic depression for a long time, and I have to say, its mind over matter sometimes. I also had bad anxiety when I was younger and couldn't bring myself to go into a place to apply for a job. Eventually, I had to man up. Well, woman up. You can't let that shit control your life to that extent. Its hard work, but its possible to better yourself without meds. The whole medical industry is a scam anyway. (For the most part) the side effects are usually worse that the condition anyway. Well, good luck to ya :)

I don't think most with depression need it because you can still work but I suppose some may have a severe case...
It's sad though, I have a medical condition that basically makes me disabled and it's like pulling teeth to even be considered. My uncle was dying and still couldn't get it... Our system is as fucked as a soup sandwich.
