Is it normal to be obsessed with name meanings?

When I meet people I have to look up their name meaning to see if it fits them and just cause I have a compulsion to know what everybody's name means. When people have made up names it annoys me! Is it normal?

    the annoyance/compulsion part seems excessive, otherwise you're fine. I've looked up a few people's names on this weird kabalarians site (the free result). It's just fun to show new people I meet their description and ask if they agree with it.

    Seems about the same as looking up their zodiac sign, which I often do. I also like to calculate peoples' life path number, but I don't do that with everyone.
