My boyfriend and I have been dating since December.. we met at a bible study and became sexually active within months of starting our relationship. Late march he was deployed to Afghanistan and has told me about a week ago that he has had a conviction and wants to be abstinent until marriage once he gets home. I'm an EXTREMELY sexual person and even his 10 month deployment makes me feel like i'm going to die. I was thinking about the first time we get to have sex every day and now he tells me that he doesnt want to for God knows how long. I do love him but i don't understand why he has to change up an amazingly satisifying thing! My suggestion was to cut other areas of sin out of his life (like cussing or being greedy) but he's staying strong on this new idea. I personally think that if you truly love someone and if you're committed to only them that there's nothing wrong with having sex with them.

    And what would you expect from someone who attends "bible study?". On the other hand, if he is able to participate in wars / killing people (probably not recommended by Bible but that is another story), he could survive having sex...Just shows how absurd religion is!

    If he won't satisfy your need, just help yourself until he's ready.

    Being away has obviously made him realise that he can live without sex and has the ability of self-restraint.
    Considering that you met him at bible study, you can't really say it's unexpected.

    If you really care about him, you should respect his decision. Remember, you can have all the sex you want once you're married.

    Sounds like alot of pent up sexual frustration on your end!! Which is completely understandable. I think he figures he can can through with this idea of his, but his will, will break pretty easily. I say tempt him lol He will certainly bite.
