Is it normal to be jealous of a friend for finding a job after graduation?

I really want to be happy for him but I can't get rid of the sinking feeling in my stomach after he told me. I graduated a year before him, couldn't find a job, and now am back in school and about to start an externship program in a completely different field. I just feel like a big failure and an a-hole because the enthusiasm I'm showing him is fake.

I don't see why the need to be jealous is here. Don't be so caught up with his life. Focus on your own and try harder.

Jealousy is a normal tendency. It's easier to be happy, though, if you're not comparing what other people have to what you don't have.
