Is it normal to be irritated with seeing the same type of people in movies?

So now that I'm older I'm so irritated with movies, magazines, and tv shows. I'm irritated because everybody always looks the same. Blonde blue eyed woman with brunette white males. I feel like society is saying that this is the only kind of beautiful. Sometimes I refuse to watch movies, tv shows or buy magazines because of this. So is it normal? Do other people feel this way?

    I think this is particularly true for female actors. Men are allowed to be a bit odd looking if they're a good actor, but women rarely are. It annoys me too, but it annoys me on behalf of all the great female actors out there who don't get a part because their face doesn't fit. And I feel sorry that I don't get to see good acting in a film because it's been sacrificed for the sake of turning it into a beauty pageant.

    I agree with you. I find most Hollywood movies bland a distasteful as they have horrible story lines and all of the actors look the same. I don't find any of these people attractive, they're all copies of each other.

    its normal to be irritated with seeing that. its a stereotype that needs to be put back into the shadows where it belongs.

    I don't know what tv/movies you guys watch but not all girls are blonde, or have blue eyes, or look like barbies...

    It's normal. I've never been attracted to a guy with red hair before, but for once I'd like to see a guy with red hair on tv, and a girl with dark hair and dark eyes instead of the regular barbie and ken.
