Is it normal to be invited out by a girl you're into but she has a bf?

Ok so basically this girl that I'm into gave me her number and within a day or two asked if I wanted to go out to coffee or whatever with her. Because I'm into her, I definitely want to go, but the only problem is that I know she has a boyfriend (although as she explained to me earlier, she is unhappy in that relationship). This puts me in a weird situation of deciding between going with my feelings and going out on a date with her, or going with a decision based purely out of principle (that is not going out because she is technically not single). Not really sure how to go from here.... Suggestions or comments? And of course is it normal to be stuck like this?!?!

    Tell her that, out of respect, you will not date her unless she is single. It is the right thing to do.
