Is it normal to be in love with someone 26 years older?

I'm in love with my boyfriend. Funny thing huh? Have been crazy about him for .. 3 years now. But - I'm 21 and he's 47. is that... normal?

We live in a modern society were there's room for gay and lesbian couples - so I'm like .. Is the world ready to accept the young to old serious relationship???
What do you think????

yeah its normal and i think a complete privilege, i am 18 and my boyfriend is 36, i suppose in this society it is considered not normal, because theres so few relationships like ours.

but being in a relationship with an older man, helps you grow like you wouldnt believe, i learn from him everyday, my views on life change weekly, and we are so much on the same level, we spend hours and hours talking about philosophy, helping people and relationships near to us.

It keeps the relationship interesting, we learn from each other, but there is still so much i dont know about him and that really excites me :)

its a bit annoying sometime the fact we get judged in public, and people banter out why is she going out with him?

they are usually young naive lads, and older women tend to look down on us sometimes, but they are the opposites of what we wanted in a realtionship, i wanted an intelligent man, not a 'stupid smelly boy' so to speak :)

and he wanted a women excited to learn about life and all it has to give, not a moaning old hag haha so when we say that we cant help but LOL.

as long as hes just as crazy about you as you are for him, i say its normal. do what makes you happy. things may get difficult down the road but its worth it to be with someone you really care for.

As long as you love him openly no strings attached. Let us remember, it was as early 1900's that women married older successful men, the idea of liking the man was irrelevant, just success for the bigger family. I don't like that way, but, it was the way it was.

completely normal, don't listen to anyone who says otherwise. Love conquers all.

Well, statistically, I'd say such an age gap, it's unlikely that your bf is interested on an intellectual level. What probably motivates him is all contained in his underwear. If this IS the case.. he's prone to cheat on you.

It is not normal, although I suppose it is cool for the guy.

If you sexually satisfied with him then go for it. However, he will become older then he might not satisfy you when you were still young and still having strong sex desires.

i think its pretty normal. If you guys love each other a lot..then what the heck? Get married or something. Have a kid and name him billy. LOL. Dont care what ppl say, dont listen to ppl's comments. Just love each other like there wont be a 2013

Yes its normal, if you love someone well you can't control that. But true love is special so hold on to it and don't seek reassurance from others because in the kind of relationship you have your going to have to be self assured in the fact that if you love each other nothing else matters.

Doesn't seem like good planning for the future to me. Sure, it's fine now, but what about down the line?
