Is it normal to be happy when distracted but unhappy otherwise?

So when I am distracted by almost anything...YouTube videos, talking to people, playing video games, etc. I feel totally fine and normal and happy.

But when I am alone and not particularly doing anything or doing something that doesn't require a lot of thought/distraction, I feel shitty.

Is this a normal thing that everyone feels or is it abnormal?

I am 21, so not going through puberty anymore or anything.

Some people have trouble being alone with themselves and their life situation. Distractions provide an escape from your insecurities and doubts. But, the ability to be comfortably alone, to let your thoughts wonder, is very therapeutic and valuable. Try it sometime, hike alone, go fishing, sit on the porch, or just relax in a chair.
