Is it normal to be glad all good things come to an end?

Old people lament that things aren't as good when their older and get all doom and gloom aboit life because all good things come to an end. But I enjoy the comfort that all good things will end because their finite existence provides incentive. Like now I am 20 years old and try my hardest to enjoy the shit oit of being young with looking good naked, having sex a lot and not having to work to support onself. The whole reason I'm trying to take advantage is because these pleasures are finite. I think I would enjoy life less if it lasted forever, you wouldn't be able to get me out of bed! Is it normal to be very comforted by the fact that all good things come to an end?

I kind of get what you're saying, but at the same time it can be so depressing as well, at least for me. It also seems like the bad things always drag on forever or never go away.

    • Yeah it was a depressing reality at first but once I thought things through enough and got more mature I realized that if everuthing lasted forever, nothing would have value.

That's a good way to look at it, and very true.

I always appreciate the good things while they're here, but worry about what kind of shit things are going to replace them and have a hard time letting my guard down enough to really relax and enjoy things. I'm better about it than I used to be, but I have a tendency to worry about tragedy, especially.
