Is it normal to be friends with males much older?

So I work in a village pub, and the regular people are all roughly 20 - 35 years older than me, and I chat to some of the regulars, and occasionally I'll have a drink after the shift.

After my shift, one of the regular guys invited his friend and me over to his house to eat some late night food - it was about 10 o'clock.

I'm pretty sure he's not trying to get with me, he once asked me out when I didn't really know him (after quite a few beers) but I said no, and we occasionally text (nothing flirty). If he wanted to get with me, wouldn't he flirt, and if not, is it normal being friends with someone over twice my age?

You sound like a very, very naive young girl. Don't get yourself into any situation, with this guy or any other, that you can't just get up and walk out of.
A bar maid at a get together after hours, with a bunch of men? NOT a good idea, honey.

I think he is interested but is trying to find another way to go about it . I also believe it to be fairly normal to befriend older men / women based on your maturity and personality . I would say be careful is all when dealing with customers because it could be conflicting since you work there .

I became mates with a guy about 30 years older than me in a pub I worked in and we sometimes go and have a few pints and shoot the shit.

  • He's absolutely interested if he's asked you out. What more information would you need?
