Is it normal to be fattened by "stress"??

I have read about many people who become fat because they were apparently stressed. Well one thing I know for sure without consulting any dietician is that stress fucks your appetite. Its almost practicaly imposible to eat when one is stressed, unless you tell me that other people go throug special kind of stress that boasts their appetite...I mean are you in your right mind to eat when you dont have the "drive/appetite/feeling" to eat???? Realy??

I personaly think whatever is causing people who are "stressed" to eat is surely a toxic factor, hence filling those people with more than terrible fat!!

I just figured every ones different. I never understand how people can eat when sad/depressed too, for me it makes me feel physically ill and a "full" feeling in my stomach. But everyone's different. I also never got how people can "lose their appetite" just from hearing about something disgusting while eating, it just doesn't happen to me

There are a lot of people that stress eat and eat when their sad or depressed. Ive known many people like that, even skinny people. Im not like that though. If Im stressed I have no desire for any food, I end up wanting to exercise.

  • From my personal experience, when something bothers me, I don't have the will to eat at all. Usually, I love eating and I could do it all day. I especially love really rich and saucy foods but I would literally turn down a plate of cheesy saucy pasta if I wasn't in the right frame of mind to enjoy my food. Then, you get people who use everything as an excuse to stuff their faces. People who call eating like a gross fat pig an "eating disorder". People who blame their weight on stress, a traumatic experience, or anything else that would usually cause other people to actually lose a few kilo's due to not having an appetite or wanting to eat. I get really frustrated with people who feel sorry for fat people. I don't discriminate against them, I don't make fun of them (not to their faces, but I have a sense of humor so I make fun of everything) and I don't think they deserve less treatment than normal weight people do but I don't believe everyone should pitty someone who's fat. Being fat doesn't happen to you. Its not cancer. You're the only person who is responsible for your own weight, you know what I'm saying? Fat children are even worse! They cry for chocolates everyday and the parents who are probably fat too, give in, turning their child into a chubby checker. Now I'm not health freak, I'm not stick thin but I'm not over weight either and I enjoy my burgers, fries, pizzas and what not but atleast I admit it. Yes, I like food, and because of that I will never be model skinny but do I expect to be pittied for it? No! Some fat people are so pathetic and those who give them special treatment are even worse.

Some people eat more when stressed some eat less its very personal. I think for cases of extreme stress like a death or a relationship ending, its common to not eat at first and then eat comfort foods later on.

There are numerous studies showing stressful situations change the chemical balance in your body. This in turn causes cravings for sugars and fats.

The only way to combat the problem is to exercise, be prepared every day, and change your work/life situation.
