Is it normal to be embarrassed for sarah palin?

When questioned about Paul Revere and what he did, this was her response.
"...he who warned, uh, the...the British that they weren’t gonna be takin' away our arms...uh, by ringin' those bells and um...makin' sure as he's ridin' his horse through town...to send those warning shots and bells...that, uh, we were gonna be secure and...and we were gonna be free...and we were gonna be armed."

I'm more embarrassed OF her than FOR her.

  • I just don't get it honestly. We have all said something stupid in our life's at one point or another. The difference, we don't have the media and masses scrutinizing our every word and move. I for one am very thankful for that. I will be the first to admit that I have said stupid things before and I would hate to be deemed an idiot off of one stupid response. Not really fair. It doesn't matter if you agree with her views or not, that's not the point of the matter.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. No one forced Palin to be a public figure. All public figures are scrutinized, and they all have a stupid comment or two on their resume. But Sarah Palin has well more then her fair share, which does make one question her intelligence and competence.

The reason people in those positions are scrutinized is they yield power and influence over peoples lives. You have never ran for Vice President of the US and you are not currently a credible future candidate for President. Sarah Palin is, as as such, if she makes statements that indicate she is not competent to hold such an important office, we have a duty as citizens to seriously pay attention.

Even if she may not be running now, she is very young in the world of politics. Newt Gingrich vanished for about 15 years or so before being a serious candidate in 2012. So I wouldn't count Sarah out in the future, and I would consider very seriously the things that she says.

    • This isn't a one time deal. But honestly, would you want someone who said what she is quoted as saying as YOUR Vice President, or representing YOU in any way?
This is the history of the country she is trying to become an elected official of. Do you get that?
