Is it normal to be attracted to guys with self-harm marks

So I dated a guy in 8th grade and he introduced me to cutting. (later found we were both bipolar) but I got used to it and I started finding myself really attracted to it. Later in highschool i dated another guy who had been in a mental hospital twice for it and I used to love kissing his scars. I haven't been around others like this in years.. well met a freind who has some of the most intense scars I've seen. They're all I'm thinking about. They make me sad knowing they got that depressed.. but holy Jesus.. i love them. Am I totally fucked up or what?

I didn't know "cutting" was that much of a "thing" among males, you must really be able to pick them!

While I don't specifically find myself attracted to "self-harm scars", I don't find scars in any way unattractive - be they surgical scars, stretch marks from pregnancy, accidents, etc. I've always just viewed such things as "a part of the person", and something to be loved along with the person.

Perhaps (and I'm not a psychologist, so I may be wrong) you find these scars attractive as they represent to you a "visible" link to your own cutting/self harm, sort of a "this guy has to accept me, he has cut himself too" thing?

Your fetish sounds almost like the opposite of mine. You like guys who hurt themselves, and I love guys who hurt other people.

I think I might also, but I've only know one guy who did that and we never really spoke, but sounds hot.

I don't know any real life murderers, so most of the guys I fall for are dead mass-murderers. I wanted to write Dylann Roof, but he stopped receiving mail for awhile, and now it looks as if he's going to get the death penalty. :(

Cutting is stupid for the mere reason that they are permanent, I wouldn't despise the idea if it didn't leave a fucking mark on you forever and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I still have these self harm marks on my arms and legs from high school and I hate looking at them now, they're like mountains of stupidity on my skin. Try self destructing yourself in another way that you won't regret as you get older.

    • I have tattoos all over myself and they are permanent. I don't regret anything and I don't think it's stupid. I'm sorry you can't except your actions from high school. I'm 22 now and they wouldn't bother me.

I mean, I bet you chose your tattoos very carefuly and you liked them enough to consider having them for life right? Cutting scars only seem like a good idea when you're depressed and then most people will regret them.

Some yes. But my cuts don't scar either. Even if they did, I'm already attracted to them. They wount bother me. Like mentioned in the post, I like them. I didn't post it for attention or someone to tell me to stop. I'm not going to. Sooo if leave it be. I just wanted to know if it was strange that I'm attracted to them. I don't regret them and I wount. Again, sorry you regret yours, but i would respect you if you weren't ashamed of them.

So you don't respect me because I'm ashamed of cutting myself in high school? What? If your cuts didn't scar then that just means you did very superficial cuts unless you have some weird skin mutation.

No I cut. I do it to bleed. I do it for the pain of it. And I'd respect you more for taking ownership. You won the battle. Show your scars because it means you fought for yourself and ya won. That's all went by respect you more.
