is it normal to be annoyed as a man that every hand shake must be a hard squeeze of the others hand, it's not a competition between me and him who ever squeeze harder is more of a man it's annoying and I don't care if I don't shake hard
Totally hate those hand-shakes. They say that a firm handshake is a sign or trustworthyness, or similar bullshit. It isn't, it is the sign of a bastard who likes to bruise hands, if anything at all, or just someone who likes to control and manipulate the other person. It's more than just a pet hate for me... it makes me fucking angry.
It's annoying, but they're just trying to impress you. Once someone did that to me and I squealed. :D
I think that you have to put just enough force behind a handshake so the other person knows your not a push over . That's what I was always told !

A friend of mine who has left the fold used to do that "bonecrusher" handshake where he'd press into the fifth metacarpal and then manipulate it back and to, which is pretty painful.
He was a moron and the only person I've had to physically hit in the past decade.

You should have a firm hand shake otherwise the other person might view you as a pussy. Macho bull shit or not you don't want to give a bad first impression because it will stay with that person forever and they will never see you in a different light.
