Is it normal to be afraid to lucid dream?

I have always wanted to lucid dream. I have a couple times and wanted to practice doing it regularly. Every time I start to practice, I'll start confusing my dreams with reality. Even if the dream is not a vivid one.

The scariest part of lucid dreaming is ending up in sleep paralysis by mistake. But being in control of your dreams is one of the most enjoyable experiences you can have in this life and would recommend everyone to try it

It is, when doing it the first time and you don't know what to do about it yet. But it would feel better as time goes, just trust yourself every time you do that. :)

You have nothing to be afraid of at first when lucid dreaming. Masters of lucid dreaming however often describe beings or entities interrupt peaceful dreams with feelings of dread. It's commonly believed to be closely linked to sleep paralysis which induces the feeling of another being in the room.

What do you do to lucid dream? I always tried to picture a pumpkin (I'm a Halloween freak. Anyhow...) Think of a picture while falling asleep. Concentrate on that picture and then, when you see that picture in a situation, say for example, you're walking through your kitchen and you see that picture on your refrigerator, you'll know for sure that you're dreaming. If you don't see it anywhere, you're awake. Hope I helped.

    • I do a reality check where I check the time 3 times in a row. Sometimes I will write my dreams down.

I always have dreams where I'm flying, but sometimes I dream that I'm jumping up way too high and have a hard time coming back down.
