Is it normal to be able to smell something from far away when laying down?

Hi, lately I've noticed this when I would lay down on my couch. I have a turtle tank roughly 6 feet away from my couch and while I'm standing, sitting, or anywhere near it I can't smell a thing. However, when I'm laying down on my couch for some reason, I can actually smell my turtle tank. Idk why this is. Can anyone give an explanation? Is it normal?

I think it's just the smell wafting on air currents towards you. This happens with me all the time. If I cook something the smell wafts down to my room (it's in the basement) long after I've eaten it. It's weird but normal. Same thing happens with my hand lotion and shampoo. Smells can linger a long time. Lol
