Is it normal to be a supervisor in a government agency at the age of 18?

When I was 18, I served as a second-level supervisor for the U.S. Census Bureau. I was the youngest second-level supervisor in our district. It felt like a weird job experience because almost everyone under me was older than me.

It's rare but you should be happy. You had to be exceptionally talented to qualify at such a young age.

  • It's extremely rare but that's a good thing. One of my old friends works for Northrop Grumman and he's 20ish.
