Is it normal to be 21 with no job, no friends, cant pay for college

I am 21 now. I cant find a job anywhere. I applied for everything within my area. I do not have good transportation so I cant go to the jobs that are 3-5 towns over. I would like to buy a car but I dont have enough money. I have a guard card and CPR certified but that seems to be worthless. I was going to apply to be a cop but that takes up to a year to do background checks. I dont have any friends since most of my HS friends left the state/country after they graduated. I dont have enough money to pay college with just loans and grants. The town I live in is shitty. I dont know what to do anymore. Theres no more jobs and its impossible to move since everything requires more money.

    Enlist in the military.

      They can help you though school if you enlist. You can also check your area for contractors that would also help you through school(ie lockede Martin if you live near Edwards).

          Was speaking from experience for what was in my area growing up. They offer programs to put people through college and in exchange the poor souls work for companies like lockheed Martin and Boeing. They were all over my high school/community college and had the same level of presence as the military.

    Establish independence (tax-wise) from your parents, so that they cannot claim you as a dependent, if you haven't already. If they are claiming you they get a BIG tax break. I bought my daughter a car with the giant tax return I got because of her. Then, take loans out and apply for a work-study job. It's the American way.

      I dont have a job though so how am I going to pay taxes? Does it count if you are making 0 income?

    I'm not sure how enlisting in the military and going towards a potential death by beheading is meant to raise this guys spirits but then again you might be onto something as noting lifts spirits like kicking some terrorists asses and then coming home to a heroes welcome of high fives, back patting and let's not forget women throwing themselves at you from dusk til dawn.

    Actually I'll be right back as going down the office to enlist in the military right now.

      I think they meant benefits as the military gives you free college of your choosing.
