Is it normal to avoid having a boyfriend because i am embarrassed of my life?

People almost never view you the same as you view yourself.
I am in the same boat as you.

I was feeling bad about myself because:
1. I have no job
2. I make no money
3. I'm overweight
4. I'm usually depressed these days

...but.... I just tried talking to this girl I always see around, and it turns out, she is totally digging on me and thinks I'm a pretty decent guy.

So get out there and go after what you want!

Hey you need to put yourself out there, most guys will judge you on your qualities not your parents or your long ago past! Be the person you want to be and never look back, after all it is going be your life with another, fresh and new!

Guys notice a lot less than you could possibly imagine! Suck it up and score a man or two... bet they keep coming back to see you even with all those terrible things around you!!!

i am in the same situation. i go to a private university full of rich kids but i am by no means rich. i feel so embarrassed someone i like wants to know more about me and my life.

You're normal but it would still be nice if you got out on the market. If the topic came up you could explain your situation.

im waiting till i get a job i can live off of before i get a girlfriend. I think i'll end up with a better one that way anyways :D

You should be yourself - dont hide who you are or you risk attracting someone who is shallow :)
