Is it normal to always be the side to say goodnight in order to finish texting?

I am always getting hesitant when texting takes too long with my girlfriend and start to think it's time to finalize texting and go to sleep. I feel my GF also wants to finish the conversation but neither of us wants to be the side to say goodbye. But then I think, someone has to do it instead of keeping conversation dull. Usually, I become the one that finishes the texting at night. Is it OK to be the one? or should I always play the game who will be the last standing side?

    There are more important things to worry about. Such as, who will take out the trash the next day? Or, who will be the first to flush the toilet?
