Is it normal to always be the one to text first?

I've been seeing this girl for a couple of weeks, we've gone out on 3 dates. I guess I just don't understand why I am always the one who has to text first, shouldn't she show some interest as well?

    She's probably nervous about interrupting what you're doing and seeming annoying in any way, so she waits until you text and then she knows it's alright. she most likely really wants to talk to you but can't just openly approach it through text so easily. I know this from personal experience because I felt the same way with my friend. It took me a while to be able to text first but now we're dating so I can just be completely open.

      And just because you're dating doesn't mean that she can easily just be open, it takes a bit to get to truely get to that stage with a person. It took me a year so this progressal of texting first won't happen overnight

    Well count your lucky stars she doesn't bombard you with messages. I had a woman who though she is lovely would text me continuously asking me what I'm doing, taking photos of what she ate/saw/did, etc.

    However I would probably entice her text by telling her to not hesitate to text you for anything. When you send messages word them to imply that you will not response until she replies back first. OR make her arrange something like your next date and ask her to text and organise it with you when she finds a suitable time.

    It takes time don't worry girl usually sees that you care for her so she waits for your msg and try not to disturb you.
