Is it normal to allow your dog to sniff your maxi pad before you throw it out?

Is it normal to allow your dog to sniff your maxi pad before you throw it out? If it's worth anything, I let my dog sniff it after I take it off.

This is why I don't have a dog.
One time when my family were staying at my aunts house the dogs ran through the house with dirty diapers and used maxi pads on Christmas eve. :/

Why am i the only one that doesnt seem weirded out by this, She isnt forcing the dog to smell it, the dog obviously just want to smell it, so she lets it, then trows it away.

Dogs and even Cats always trying to smell shit we have cause they are nosy, greed fuckers and no harm no foul

I don't see why this is a bad thing, but no, this is not normal. At all.

    • I wasn't sure if others did this and I'm fine with it being abnormal, but I don't know why people are thinking its so bad either.

I know aye when the majority of folk think revolting acts such as licking someones ass hole is good. Whats wrong with people these days .
When my dog was a pup he used to tear and eat accidentally left maxi pads lying around :O It was so gross and when I saw this Id instantly tell him off and take away any remaining bits. Its normal for a dog to like yuck things but not really normal to encourage this behaviour. Id try to keep my dog well away from bloody pads cause its unhygenic too!

I voted no. I don't see any logical reason for letting your dog sniff it.

No, why on earth would you do that?

    • It just seems like dogs are animals and they like to sniff things especially natural things. Maybe my little doggy is interested in knowing when I'm on my period since she goes into heat herself.

You should probably get her spayed.

Why would she do that? She might hurt the dogs feelings...

Hahaha... Well, the majority of dogs, even purebred ones, do not need to be intact unless they're being shown and bred by a responsible breeder. It's actually better for dogs emotionally when they're fixed.

        • She's small and she likes to come in with me. She cries outside the door if I don't let her in sometimes.

What if she'd lick it? That would be bad. Idk why but yeah, dogs tend to eat really gross things. My dog tries to eat out of the cats' litter box but we don't let her.

Why not just cut out the middle man and let him sniff your crotch directly.

    • Because I'm NOT a pervert and she may try to lick it which I DON'T want. I'm not like some of these creeps on here that like that.

I'm a girl and my dogs are obsessed with my underwear, if I accidentally leave it on the floor I'll come back and its soaking wet from them licking it. But dude that's super weird that you let them sniff your pads like why .

Is there a reason you let them sniff it? Is it because they try to or are you trying to get them to remember your scent. You know I heard of dogs eating stuff like pads and diapers before. You should probably watch for that.

Mine ate pads when he was a pup- waz so gross!

      Comment Hidden ( show )
    • I don't let my dog eat it. She's really small and I can keep her out of stuff as long as I'm holding the pad while she's sniffing it. It just seems like dogs are animals and they like to sniff things especially natural things. Maybe my little doggy is interested in knowing when I'm on my period since she goes into heat herself.

Well yes that is probably true. Dogs go by scents and so if they want to smell your but or your pads or even your underwear they are trying to figure out things about you. Some dogs have been trained to spot cancer in patients before symptoms even showed up. If you are simply letting your dog smell to feed its curiosity I think that is normal. This is also why I did not automatically write your actions off as crazy. What you are doing is treating the dog as another dog would treat it.

I guess her dog will just come over and clean up that barf for you. Maybe it licks her shitty ass clean too... *doublebirdbarfs*

      Comment Hidden ( show )
    • I think it does build a bond. Dogs see the world through scent and she and I are both females and have female issues.

But she can smell it anyway, there's no need to shove the pad in her face :/

Dogs have like 24 times the smelling of human, but still shove their nose up a butthole, so ehhh

Dogs are just like that sometimes

          Comment Hidden ( show )
        • Hmmm i didn't think of it this way. I guess she can still smell it but she seems to like it close and to sniff it close up so I dunno.
