Is it normal to admire a guy's back?

I was at the beach with a some friends. One of them was a gay guy, he wore swim shorts and no shirt, and he had a fine back. I complimented him about it, and he's always appreciated my compliments about his physical appearance and compliments from other girls, but it seemed like this one creeped him out.

    It might have seemed like a ramdom thing to compliment or something. It's not the first thing people typically notice on a guy.

    I do agree though, I like when guys work out and they have that kind of V-shaped back, slim waist with wider upper back and shoulders. It's hot.

    Preferably shaved or waxed though. I can't stand hairy backs.

    It's normal. My boyfriend has a nice back. He's 6'4, and has a wide frame.
