Is it normal to act very different when i post stories and when i comment?

So, usually, when I post stories they are quite long. I explain things in detail and even give examples. Because of this, my story teller personality has two main traits: overly sensitive and fond of unpopular opinions.

My "commenting" persona is quite different though. I try to appear to be the straight person, the one with the socially acceptable answers. I can act a little paternal too, giving lots of advice and encouraging people to get better and do their best.

This has produced quite funny situations. Sometimes, some users strongly disagree with what I write on my stories and write aggressive comments, which I usually respond with a confrontational attitude... but then, in the very same day, I could be agreeing with the very same users and acting friendly with them in another post.

In my more sensitive posts, a few always try to cheer me up. Yet, when I comment in other's stories, I am the one always trying to cheer others up.

So, has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

Sounds like you spend too much time commenting back and forth on this website. Try having face to face discussions for a change.

I sort of see where you are coming from 'cause my posts are usually way longer than my comments. This is probably because when making a story or poll, whatever you are saying actually matters to you in a more in-depth way than just reading and answering to someone else's post. However, I don't really think that I act that differently between posting and commenting. Length-wise yes, but my writing (or in this case, typing) style and personality don't really change.

    Overall, I vote half normal.
