Is it normal this disgusting giant noodle....

Some friends of my family went to the food bank once and ended up giving us some of their food they got. It was all this "no-name" cheap crap that I had never even seen for sale in ANY store. It was very low quality.

One of the items was a can (yes, a CAN) of macaroni and cheese. I was hungry so I was going to eat it. The picture on the can looked normal enough.

So, I open the can and it turns out it was ONE fat, long noodle in some soupy, watery "cheese sauce". More like it was yellow water, essentially. There wasn't anything resembling cheese in there.

It was so fucking gross!! The noodle was the diameter of my ring finger and a foot and a half long. It was sloppy and soggy, it didn't even taste at all like pasta.

I picked up the can to inspect the picture again. I realized they had carefully arranged the noodle in the "cheese sauce" to make it *look* like it was normal elbow macaroni. But now that I knew better I could see it was just them disguising the nasty thing.

I took one bite just because....but that shit went right into the trash. It makes me sad that some company actually makes that garbage.

Has anything like this happened to you? Have you been duped? What's the most disgusting food surprise you've ever gotten?

is it normal to get fooled by bad food?

    • I feel bad about wasting food so I couldn't just throw it out without so much as tasting it and I was a bit curious as well.

Eww that sounds fucking gross. The worst food experience I've ever had was when I had a dry ass chocolate chip cookie with a nasty hair all twisted in it. :((

Disgusting giant noodle... Be honest, are you talking about my penis?

  • The only thing abnormal about this is that you took a bite.

Hey, that "no-name" CRAP has gotten me through some pretty tough months before... If you know how to RE-PURPOSE foods you could avoid wasting anything.

    • Yes, I'm not a snob about it and I hate waste, however, WHAT could be done with that disgusting noodle thing?

You could have chopped it up and thrown it in with a big batch of GOOD macaroni and cheese. (More or less just a filler...) Elbow or Rotini noodles, Velveeta cheese, and hide that stupid crap in there too. It has to have SOME nutritional value... and instead of using plain water you could have used the cheese-water to help melt the Velveeta. Plop some butter in there, salt and pepper, and VOILA. All done. ^_^

        • I'd sooner eat a can of dog food, honestly. This was by far the scariest and shittiest food item I have ever seen in my life and I didn't see ANY value in it-and I've seen/eaten some rank shit before. Just thinking about how fat that noodle was...ugh. It sort of tasted like paste.

I'm having a hard time believing you, and I think you're grossly exaggerating, but okay, whatevs. ^_^

            • Well that's pretty rude of you to say! I wish I could find a picture of the product but I haven't been able to yet.

Do you know those old time pictures of sea serpents? How they curve up over the water and then disappear below and then back up, back down and so on? THAT is what the picture of the macaroni looked like on this can. I didn't notice it when I first looked at it (it was done cleverly enough to not be noticeable at a glance), who would've thought that it would be one single long, fat noodle? But upon looking at the picture afterwards I could see how they looped the noodle up and down in the "sauce" to make it look like individual noodles. I am NOT exaggerating one bit.

You said they feed this to poor people? Maybe that is why. Free is what you paid for. You notice the food you pay more for is stuff like prime cuts, fish and stuff high end restaurants.

Even the better cuts of meat in the market are the more expensive ones. You have to deal with the fact things cost. Everything cost and all things cost. You want cheap? Well you get what you paid for. You get cheap crap.

Why they feed shit to public school children. We could better food but that means the school would have to spend money more wisely and get some better food. Which is impossible it seems.

You want a real education you have to pay. You want your kids to get a healthy lunch you have to send them to a school you pay for. That is the issue here.

            • What? Dude, did you get dropped on your head repeatedly as a baby? You are quite possibly the dumbest person I've seen on the whole ENTIRE internet. Definitely in the top 5.

OMG. I honestly think that would be so funny. To open a can of macaroni and cheese to find some snake noodle in dirty water.
