I never talk about it but me too.

It is so painful. I was just just about to get married, and I traveled abroad right before this started. I was supposed to be away for a month or two. It's gonna end up being two or two and a half years. My fiance and I were juuust starting to talk about having children, but I was very set on enjoying having a few years of marriage and travel before we committed. That is no longer a choice for us & we probably won't have kids at this point. I lost the honeymoon period in my relationship. There's financial struggles. I'll never get to have a wedding with my family there. I've lost family members to this. I've worried the whole time. It's just been so hard. I feel like I've had one of the most important parts of my life stolen, and my choices were taken away.

But you move past it. You can and you do. I've found ways to cope with everything. I worry more about the people I love who are struggling more than I did. I know I have things to look forward too, even if they don't go according to plan. I know that I have people I love and people who love me.

It's hard. It is. I get being depressed about everything, but at some point you have to accept that you have lost time. The more time you waste miserable, nostalgic for the time you never had, the more time you will lose. You need to move on with whatever life you have available. If you can't do that, go talk to a therapist. That's what I did. I was super broken up and now I'm a stronger person.

I'm sorry for you. Not for two and a half years, but for two and a half GOOD years. Good years don't come around very often. My good years are gone. Yours shouldn't be. Don't stop thinking about that wedding. I'll remember it from time to time to add some karma for you.

It outright redirected my plan to immigrate to France. I had stayed there for a few months in 2019 to determine whether or not I was going to be willing to live there permanently and discovered that I liked it fairly well.
I had planned to save up money throughout 2020 but that was ruined when I lost my job due to the pandemic. I'm just recently getting back on my feet.
