Is it normal the mental health system is this incompetent?
So today I had another appointment with my psychiatrist that you all tell me to go see and she double booked my appointment AGAIN. "She already is in with a 2:00pm appointment" says the receptionist. They have no record that I have an appointment even though I have the card from last time saying I do.
This, or something similar, happens about %50 of the time with them.
Also I have a paper from social security requesting to know the dates of my appointments from this year, but they had not kept track of them at all. I'm going to be pissed if ssi punishes me for this but I wont be surprised. I suppose I could have kept track myself but I didn't know I was supposed to.
Now I could go to another clinic, but honestly this is the best one I've found. Other ones have fucked up appointments resulting in me not having medication and at least this clinic will fax in my prescription if they don't see me. Withdrawing off psych meds is awful and I can see why people go postal.
I could also choose to not go and get my meds from a real doctor, but I have found it useful to have someone educated in psychological pharmaceuticals because while the ones I have now work great, they have to be switched every couple years due to becoming immune to them after time.
Also I benefit from asking questions relating to interacting with others and bringing people I know into counseling sessions when we have issues where they don't understand me. I communicate way better typing than I do speaking.
It seems that these clinics prioritize serving people with drug addictions and domestic problems rather than helping people with genetic conditions that wont actually go away but people with permanent problems are often considered untreatable and some of the state clinics will even dismiss them which is why we have so many people on the streets going crazy.
