Is it normal the dean didn't tell me i could appeal it?
I've been accused of a title 9 violation at my college. And I'm trying to appeal it because its bullshit, and the dean told me that I couldn't appeal it.
I asked why I didn't get a say in the matter and he said the burden of proof was that whatever the accuser said had to be at least 51% believable. And since I was accused of a title 9 violation once before about a year ago it automatically means sanctions are put on me. I asked why since the accusation from a year ago the girl herself said that I never touched her its just that after days of flirting the last night we hung out together she felt uncomfortable. He said it didn't matter that I didn't touch the last girl the fact that she filed a complaint was enough.
Anyways I kept asking him questions and found out who was over his head on title 9 stuff and I went to see them. She was very happy to see me, informed me that I had every right to appeal and will organize a meeting for the next day.
is it normal the dean told me I couldn't appeal when I could?
