Do you think it's normal that this happens?
It's normal, not because women are natrually smarter, but because the education system goes by the females mind progression method and makes sure the males progression method (competition) is not in the education system at all.
Males in education aren't doing as good as they were before, they used to do much better. Saying "males have just got more dumb" is obvioulsy a simple and incorrect way of answering it.
I mean, take me for example. I'm no genius, but I used to be terrible with grammar. Here is an example of how I used to spell:
"hello my name is itduz and i want to say their is something wrong with how your treeting your people at work and i think you should stop being wrong on how u treat you're workers."
I used to be terrible at grammer, and although I'm no master at it now, I still have progressed far more than the level I was at before. I progressed in grammar due to being on IsItNormal, a competitive community. People would call you dumb for typing with very bad grammar skills, so I worked towards being better at my grammar, because I had to prove myself that I wasn't dumb, to prove I wasn't to those people, to be able to be taken as serious as them, and in one month, I got extremely better. The education system couldn't progress my grammar when they had years to do it.
This could just go to show that when males are in a competitive enviroment that they have to prove themselves smart enough to be in, then they progress, where as the education systems have taken any form of that and flung it out the window, meaning less males are going to get that competitive, prove themselves part that pulls them in to learning more.
I can only speak for the UK where they abandonned the importance of hand-writing, spelling and grammar in their exams - they felt it was more important for the males to be able to share their knowledge without worrying about the other things that they are normally weaker at. It has back-fired coz without the written word they all seem stupid - no matter what they are trying to say. They destroyed the education system in favour of boys - who usually have less concentration in the classroom, hate writing and don't like to learn by rote. They have also introduced 'controlled assessments' so that boys don't have to do too much work all at once for 2 weeks of exams at the end of the year. Boys don't like to be forced to study / cram - especially when the weather is nice. So, the education geniuses have controlled assessments throughout the year, even in winter. But now, boys don't want to work all year through!
Yes, girls are more mature and know to study while the boys are still childish and want to play. Certainly the UK have destroyed education in favour of boys but Xboxes and PS3s are still more important to them :o(
Perhaps the answer is to keep the boys at home for an extra 2 years so that they can catch up mentally with the girls. So girls start school at 4yo and boys at 6yo, could do GCSEs at 18 when they've realised they are actually important. Whereas my son did some at 14yo and I had to kick his @ss off the Xbox and force him to study by sitting with him and printing off past papers etc. Just too immature to realise the long term impact.
We still have grammar schools and only find that the boys in the normal comprehensives do less well - but then education is not a priority to most of them.
I wonder how you find it geared more against males?
So, instead of trying to make the boys better at hand writing, they avoid teaching them...? How is that in favour of boys? That's stopping them from learning. They have not destroyed the full education system in favour of boys, they have done it in favour of girls, which is why females are coming out with more degrees, etc, than boys. And the whole "Girls are just smarter" argument doesn't apply, because that wasn't the case years ago.
All of these can be said that boys don't try to achieve is because their main source of thriveing for education is competition in education.
So instead of making them do work, they're letting them not do work...How is that in favour of boys?
Males progress slower at a young age due to them not being made to sit in a chair and listen when they're in a more hands on, active, moving around phase. When this is happening, the education system doesn't play in to these parts of the male, and instead of focusing on teaching them in a way that benefits them, they will sit and make them learn the way that plays in to a female strength way of learning, while it lessens the male way of learning at early ages.
I would say more, but here's an atricle about it, there are many like it:

Thank you for the article. The only problem with it is - what is one teacher supposed to do with 35 brats? Nowadays, they are not allowed to run about, skip with a rope, kick a ball, etc. due to the threat of injury and the school being sued by the parents - looking for some quick money. So of course, he / she will superglue their butts to the chairs.
Have you ever tried to control 35 4year olds who know their rights? So that if you put your hand to guide them into a line, they ask the others if they saw that 'assault'?
It is any wonder it is soooo hard to get teachers?
Did you ever see the Sky programme that tested 300 teachers in England on our N. Ireland's 11+ exam for 10 year olds? It is maths and english. For our kids to go to a grammar school they need to get about 70%+ . The primary school teachers in England achieved an average of 40% and only one scored 100%.
So it's not just boys vs girls you need to consider. Very many of the teachers are crap and can't teach. Also since corporal punishment was abandonned, there is no discipline and now children cannot even be excluded for head-butting a teacher or telling them to fuk off, etc. Political correctness and self-esteem means teachers are supposed to ask little Johnnie, "Would you like to read the next page?" Answer - No. Reply - OK. Whereas years ago teachers TOLD kids what to do not beg them to comply.
As the standard of teaching declines they label children as dyslexic (no such MEDICAL condition) - as if it's the kids' fault, and of course with less concentration, most of these are boys. As they become more disillusioned they drop out and the prison population has 80% poor readers. Nor does it help that they are trying to integrate 'special needs' children into ordinary primary schools so that an autistic child who screams constantly is louder than the teacher and no-one can hear him / her, to learn. Boys love this distraction!
You are absolutely right that boys love competition which is why the Xbox and PS3 are more appealing than homeworks and revision. Combine that with lazy parenting, crap teaching and truancy and you will find that naturally more boys are failing :o(
Personally I love teaching boys. I know that the most disruptive ones can't read, so I like to sort that out first. Natural readers don't need any attention for reading at all.
However, most teachers are like most working adults - for an easy life.
I haven't seen anyone sue the education system for scrapes on the knee. If children get physically hurt greatly, then it would be understandable.
What are you talking about? I'm not talking about beating the students.
Yes, then that only adds more to the males not being taught their way problems, they aren't being properly taught in their ways of thinking, but the females are still doing well, so I think the male education process is still a higher issue.
And I would have to agree, we need punishments more severe in out education systems.
I wouldn't say it's that simple as them saying "ok". When I was in school, kids were made to read, the majority did, but you did get a few that said no, and then they were punished for it.
But, I do understand that a lot of them get away with it.
Yes, they do. Why do they like this distraction? Because it is something that is grabbing their attention far more than how they're learning. I think if the education system was playing in to how boys learn, that they themselves would be pissed off with the overloud students. Infact, I have witnessed it happening. There was a boy when I was young called "Robbie", he was one of the "tough/cool" kids, and when he had his free time, he was the loudest and most dominant around. However, when kids started speaking louder than the teacher, and the teacher was trying to talk, he would usually butt in to the other students telling them to shut up, because he wanted to hear the teacher. He didn't do this with all classes, just classes such as chemistry, gym, and mainly most of the subjects that had a more physical touch to the lesson, and most of the kids ended up shutting up, and the others were happy to shut up, although it was trouble making the female students shut up.
And I would have to agree. It really is a shame. If we only made student work more competitive and strict, maybe then we'd have a better generation of males. I'm not sure if this is true, I'm sure I seen it somewhere (don't hold me to this) but I'm sure I seen somewhere online that kids with fathers that take a big interest in their childrens education usually the man's son is very high in education. I think the problem is also having families with males in them.
Absolutely! The main influence in any child's life is their same sex parent.
But the school system has become so PC that even in the UK they are being sued by parents who slip in the playground on icy days while picking up their kids. That's why most schools do not allow the parents inside the school gates at pick up anymore. Unfortunately, yes they are being sued for every scrape and trip the kids have :o( Compensation culture following the Americans.
There are no punishments for kids anymore as it may affect their self-esteem, you have to 'ask' them if they would like to do something.
Which education system are you talking about that isn't competitive? What, no tests or exams or marking of assignments? Where is this?
I would love a rich chick, I'd comfort her with love and pleasure if she was making 6 to 7 digits yeah I'd be her sex slave ;)
OP this was always the case for me as I am an academic whereas my husband is a tradesman.
However, I gave the rat race up when I had my son.
