Is it normal that what bothers me most about tragedy is it could happen to me?

For instance, bombings such as the trade centers or OK city bother me less for the actual tragedy and a lot more for the danger they represent to me and those I love. It sucks real bad what happened to New York, and I'm on the West coast, hopefully nothing like that will happen again...I feel sorry for those who lost love ones....

When I saw it live on the TV, I could not believe my eye's! But I would not say that it impacted me emotionally.

If you're anything like me, I just don't have it in me to feel deeply affected by what happens to other people. Of course it's sad and I wish no one had to suffer but that will just never be the case and I don't want to spend my life lamenting the bad things that happen to other people that I can't do anything about. So yeah, I'd say you're normal ;)

  • You seem like a caring person, I say keep you philosophy because you're just thinking of your loved ones, which is very admirable.
