Is it normal that there are so many

Is it normal that there are so many users on is it normal who have only been signed up for a few days or less?
It used to be there was a group of older members but now it seems like very few are even a month old. These new members also don't seem to give a damn about posting anything interesting just trolling and being obnoxious. It seems they are almost half of the ones who post.
Is this normal and I'm unobservant or is this something new?
