I fucking hate them and their stupid loud ass vans, I want to burn their stupid van break that stupid sound that comes out of the van. Hell I would fucking melt all of the ice cream so kids can't have them. I am so tired of hearing that annoying sound.

I thought I heard one the other day and turned around excitedly but it was just my alarm going off. Was so bummed. I've never purchased from one. Had one go by my home twice a week fot like 3 years but always at a random time and you hear it so you get dressed and grab your wallet running out and all you see id its fat ass getting the fuck out. I've never heard an ice cream van in real life... I've known what they sound like from movies and GTA, but they aren't a thing in Eastern Europe.
Haven't seen any ice cream vans in Germany either.
Are they really that loud, to make you want to smash them up?
They do still exist in the UK, but they're a lot rarer these days than they were, say, twenty years ago.
They can be pretty damn loud, with PA speakers on the top blaring out a plinky-plonky electronic rendition of The Blue Danube Waltz or some other tune. Because they're mainly active in urban areas, the sound echoes around between the houses, and it ends up distorted by echoes.
Whenever it is morning or when it's afternoon and I hear it driving past with that annoying sound it makes me want to throw a rock, it gets to the point where I cannot hear anything because of the wretched van.
The obnoxious sounds from ice cream trucks make any peaceful suburban neighborhood truly yucky. It is enough to repel anyone with normal intelligence. Even dogs dislike them. I have never seen anyone psychologically distorted enough to buy ice cream from one these sick vehicular monstrosities.
