Is it normal that the camera makes my hair look a different color in lights?

My hair is blond and in some pictures the camera makes my hair look like it has an orange tint which I find not nice. In the sun light however my hair looks a light as blond in pictures so is this normal?

the lighting can have something to do with it, florescent lights for example, make colors flatter and sometimes with a hint of blue. It also depends on the camera, digital cameras basically "guess" using the closest shade in its memory to the light coming in. So, due to the way the light is hitting the camera, its probably why.

have you worked with any of your cameras (or cameraphone) settings? if you adjust it a little, maybe that will fix it.

I have black hair (or at least very very dark brown) and sometimes in the sun if you look close you can see that it is brown.

  • Yeah. In one picture my hair looks dark brown, nearly black and in another my hair looks light blond, like the bottle-dyed kind.

Same here. With my natural color, I would look anywhere from dark brown to red. Bright fucking red wtf.

My hair looks different in different lights too, which is normal. In the sun it's much more colourful than in a dull lighting. As for cameras, they always make my hair look much duller than what it looks like in real life; my hair tends to look black in pictures, and in a lot of lighting, but it's actually dark brown.
