Okay back in middle school I was told multiple times that i have a big forehead and that i am ugly im my face and behind my back. But I knew, yet never said anything is that normal.
Normal. However, next time you should stand up for yourself. Explain to those jerks that they're wrong and you are beautiful. Words will only hurt you as much as you let them.
If you're female there are many ways to have your hair. Baby Spice Emma has a large forehead but is now wearing her hair better to hide it.
Anyway, you should feel flattered that you are so important to them that they want to talk about you. Especially, if you have never considered talking about them coz you haven't taken them under your notice :o)

of course it is normal. You Assume that if they can say such things behind your back, they can do even worse to you if you confront them. What are you supposed to do anyway? say: stop calling me a big mongoose headed freak or I will do stuff to you? they are always many and you are just one. Don't worry anyway, their backstabbing smearing ways will eventually catch up with them on their own.
