Is it normal that people consider me a "drug addict"?

So I have always been interested in drugs and I don't think that all illegal drugs are dangerous. I am not an habitual drug user, I only get the chance to smoke weed every once in a while(maybe once a month, or less) and I have also tried MDMA a couple of times over the last two years, and I haven't found it particularly strong(not stronger than alcohol IMHO). Yet when I told people about this they started treating me like I am some sort of criminal. What gets on my nerve is that the same people smoke a lot of cigarettes and they think that's ok because they are legal, when in fact they are a lot more dangerous than both weed and MDMA. So I get to be called a drug addict, but they don't?!

  • You are not a drug addict. A drug addict does them all the time. Recreational drug use is not addiction, but can lead to it. Weed's not a big deal but be careful with the extacy. I've known a few people to get into hard drugs and it ruined their lives. Meth is the popular hard drug around here.

I've tried weed (Smokes about 3 times a month-ish. Sometimes just once, sometimes five) I have also tried MDMA, but pills and HOLY FUCK they were everything but mild so to speak.

It's true that you are taking chemical drugs at your own risk and you should be prepared and well-educated in how to stay as safe as you can possibly be.

People will always put labels on you regardless of what you say or do.

I tell you what I tell other people who claims they aren´t addicts: Stay clear of it for like two months and see how it feels.

I´d love to try shrooms and LSD next. Probably going to aim for a small dose of shrooms at first

If people know you do drugs they call you a druggie. If the show fits... Btw I know people that are called druggies and they don't even do drugs they just look grunge . It's a judge mental world.

People's opinions on this vary widely. I once talked to a therapist who considered me an addict for the fact that I had even tried marijuana--once! However, my friend who is an alcoholic and shoots smack, says he wishes he was as tame as me. I think it depends on who you ask, but no one wants to hear a bunch of lectures and nagging, so I never ask my more conservative friends such questions. The choice is up to you how far you go, but there will always be people who do too much in your opinion, too. However, if you were to hang out with people who think you are tame, you might end up using more.

Your a recreational user and if "suicide Tuesday" isn't a problem for you (you don't need something to get you through it alcohol ect.)then your probably not the sort of person to become dependent/addicted to a drug.

But remember MDMA isn't safe, you take it at your own risk.

      • I know pills are not safe since they can get mixed with rat poison and shit - but why I had was pure mdma crystals, and I took them with sober friends who were keeping an eye on me and making sure I stayed hydrated. I wouldn't have taken it without making sure that risks were at minimum.
