Is it normal that people are burning union flags outside my house today?
Today is the 4th of July as we all know. It's the birthday celebration of the beacon of liberty and financial power, the United States.
I was, however pretty shocked to see outside my house a large group of patriots, about twenty of thirty people burning huge Union Flags (the flag of the UK) on the sidewalk as a display of independence from England. Is it normal that they are doing this? I've looked up UK flag burnings on Google and some people think this is okay.
I thought the Brits were our friends and allies? Is it normal that US citizens are burning UK flags or is it bad? I asked my Dad, he said he didn't think it was wrong. But it looks kind of mean and vicious. It's not like the English burned Old Glory during the Royal Wedding.
