Is it normal that online friends who never start conversations first annoy me?

Alright, first off, I realize that people have their own agendas and could simply be busy. However, I've had people on my Skype list who don't message first EVER if I hadn't said anything first already. Even if the conversations are good, would it hurt for me to receive a greeting first from said people? I'm not the type to constantly message or annoy people either as being a gamer takes up time. I also don't let this bother me seriously as I would just like some effort too from other friends. So, is it normal and has anyone felt this way also?

    I am that sort of online friend that never starts a conversation with anyone even those that I find awesome it's not that I don't want to or can't be bothered but I fear that I might be annoying them, I'm being needy or I'm not wanted. Try to see it from this type of perspective they are probably dying to talk to.you as well but perhaps they are like me, shy.

    Maybe they don't notice you or are doing something else at the time.

    Just because you are not busy doesn't mean they are not.

      In the very first sentence, I did state that I was aware that people could be busy. I too have things I like to do during the day. If I greet someone and they don't respond, of course they are busy. I mean more of if a friend absolutely never initiates conversation unless they receive a greeting first.
