One of my friends parents just got a divorce and she isn't taking it well.. She has started cutting.. She doesn't know that I know, but I want to help... How can I??
Suggest to her that she really needs to see a counselor. You might even offer to go to the appointment with her. People who are cutting are dealing with their emotional pain in an inappropriate way. She needs your support and the guidance of a professional counselor. It's very common for children and teens to have problems when their parents divorce.
Tell a trusted adult about it. She'll hate you for it, but it's the best thing to do :-)
Where does she cut? If you noticed it, then maybe she knows that you have but hasn't said anything. Try talking to her about it, but don't freak out. Ensure her it is okay and that you aren't going to judge, she needs your support more than ever now. Try talking to her parents or a trusted teacher, I know it seems like you are betraying her but it will help her in the long run. You sound like a good friend, she's lucky.
A very tough question. Is she a close friend? If so, take her out, sleepover, go out and do things so she hasn't time to cut. Also, find out what she's cutting with and get rid of all of it, keep throwing out what she uses to cut.
If her parents will take it well, tell them. They will likely try to resolve any remaining problems and think up things to distract their kid. It's a bug adjustment for some kids.

Find out one of her passions and let her embrace it. When i'm depressed, i usually get depressed until i have a gig with my band. After getting on stage and doing what i love most, i forget about it.
Honestly, just go right up to her and confront her. If she doesn't try to deny or hide it, then she's seeking attention. She could be cutting because she's upset, and when you cut, endorphins are released and it gives you a sort of high. Just talk to her about it first before you directly to an adult.
Well, I used to cut and it's an extremely hard habit to break/: just let her know you're always here for her. Make her feel like she's the most important person in your life, that's all I needed to get me to stop..

Yes your friend may hate you at first for giving up her secret, but it's what you should do.
Being a friend isn't about saying what your friend wants to hear, or ignoring cutting because they're embarrassed... it's about CARING what happens to them and getting them the help they need.
And besides... even if she hates you for it... she'll at least be alive.
If she cuts too deep one day, or if she kills herself, she might not hate you but... well she'll be dead anyway.
Talk to her about it. Let her know that you know what she's doing, and that she really has to stop before it gets out of hand. But if you really wanna know what to do with a situation like this, ask a counselor from your school what you could do. They'll probably help you find the right words to say.
