I love my husband and everything, and I'm very attracted to him, but sometimes when we have sex I get really dry and it becomes uncomfortable and painful, so we have to stop. It hasn't happened with any of my other partners and it always makes me feel bad because he doesn't finish. We use lube to combat this but it still feels pretty darn crappy.

    I see you have an option "it's because he isn't exciting enough". Is it really the case? because only you can know it.
    I guess you should give it a break or two to heal yourself before you do it again and use a lot of lube from the begining.
    Check the kind of lube you are using. You may consult a doctor if problem persists. You may colsult a doctor to make sure you use a good kind of lube .

      I think he IS exciting enough, but I was wondering if that might just be it, that my body isn't finding it enjoyable. It isn't every time either, only on occasion. I just feel like its the female version of impotence and it sucks

        There is nothing in your case that may show any impotence. It's just that you are drying up. Don't over think it if it's just on occasion. Just use lube before you start and don't think it will happen. This happens to others too. It's normal and you are alright.

    That can happen when things get a bit stale or become too routine with long term partners.

    A former partner would sometimes have that problem. Her guaranteed turn on was always sex in forbidden places. Once she was in a place where she 'wasn't supposed to have sex' (e.g. public places, cars etc) she was so wet it was ridiculous.

      Not true, women can dry up at any time depending on all sorts of things, some physical, some emotional, some crappy lovers.

      If you're talking about menopause, women vary incredibly on the age this process begins and the effects it has on the body: it's not one single event by the way. I was totally dry for a few years at the start of menopause in my late 40's and was prescribed vaginal oestregen cream, which I'm still using weekly 20 years later, except when I forget.
