Is it normal that no matter how many products i use, my acne wont go away?

I have really bad acne problems. I have used every skin care product I could think of. But my acne still wont go away! The kids at school have been picking on me constantly for it. The prescriptions my doctor have prescribed have not cleared it up. They have made it worse. Is this normal?

a couple of things to consider...

    1) Washing your face with a sink full of water only. instead of tons of chemicals just let the water itself and your wash cloth do the work. sometimes it can help more than products

    2) less facial washing. if you're washing several times a day you're probably irritating your skin. removing too much oil will put your body into overdrive to produce more iirc. so you could be creating your own issue.

    3) consider blotting papers to remove excess oil.

    4) don't forget those biore strips. they may help remove some plugs but don't overdo it. they can also make things worse sometimes.

if your really do want to use product... the vinegar doesn't sound bad. It changes the PH balance of your skin which makes it harder for bacteria to live there. And it's not as harsh as say...rubbing alcohol.

you may also want to consider witch hazel. it's hard to find now because of all the products out there but it's simple and easy to use. just that on a cotton ball

  • Its really not a question of how much diarrhia the human body can excrete before dehydration sets in, its more of a philosophical question regarding whether or not the need is there for someone to wear adult diapers during a spat of diarrhia and if it is appropriate for that person, if in fact they do wear the diapers, to take the diaper off and show the diarrhia off to others at work, or in meetings. Or to then twirl the diarrhia engorged diaper around over their heads all the while saying "Hiyo Silver, away!" While the diarrhia juice squishes out and sprays all over the room and assorted colleagues that have been gathered there.

It is normal to feel the need for adult diapers given the propensity for diarrhia episodes to manifest themselves unexpectedly, but swinging the poo juices around the room, no that is not normal.

ask your dermatologist to prescribe you accutane, best thing you can ever do for your skin. ever! it is seriously the only thing that can get rid of your acne if you've tried everything else!

Hello, I feel your pain! You say you have tried everything but just out of interest do you suffer from constipation? I know I know ... ewww blah blah blah ... but seriously you are what you eat and when you are constipated the toxins from your you know what are reabsorbed back into the bloodstream and come out of your skin causing acne! All of these so-called acne washes and creams don't help much apart from drying skin out and acne is not even caused by too much oil on the skin anyway. I would suggest trying to eat more fruit and vegetables to get your bowels moving if this is the case and I'm sure you will see good results! Hope this helped x

Have you tried stuff from origins? And also, do you drink enough water, get enough sleep, how much stress are you under? Do you eat lots of sweets? You may need a lifestyle change rather than a prescription.

I had, and still have problems with acne. Unfortunately it's a skin disease that is only treatable and not curable. What I've found to work best on my skin, is to reduce stress to a bare minimum and don't over wash your face. Good luck!

If your 'bad acne' is like cystic acne, I recommend going to a dermatologist and being prescribed Accutane. Yes it is a strong drug with side effects but majority of results are remarkable, you can find many stories on youtube.
I have cystic acne and started taking accutane a bit more than a week ago with 2 other antibiotics to ease the side effects and it hasn't been too bad, in fact I've already noticed minor improvements. This cycle is planned to last for 9 months, but it depends on the person and severity of the acne for how long it lasts. Usually you're left with flawless skin which I can't wait for ^^
I hope you find something that works for you :)

Everyone has their own method. Simple nightly face-washing with Dove soap, added to changing the pillowcase every other day, worked out in my case. The Dove took out the facial oil, while the changing prevented coming into contact with the same oil every night. The hormones settled down after a few months of this, though, so I didn't need to keep it up for long. :)

How long have you been using your prescription? Sometimes it's suppose to get worse then it gets better.

acne is a terrible disease which destroys social lives and self-esteem. I hope they find a cure to it.

I used to have it in my teens, my face is fine now (I'm an adult) aside from some minor scarring.

I hated my parents for passing this scourge on to me-my siblings were spared this traumatic experience. My case wasn't even that bad compared to others, but I just hated it. I tried a variety of products but none helped, aside from growing out of puberty.

Once I was 18, it cleared up and girls were very attracted to me. It was an experience I would've preferred to have never gone through.

people who get severe acne should never have kids. Why do some people get it and not others, it's all genetics. Don't pass on your degenerate genes.

I'm not talking about minor acne that everyone gets, I'm talking about the severe variety.

i have problems since i was 15 and they still haven't cleared up 100% and I'm 21. I tried some products by i just stopped trying because they just didn't do anything for my skin. It was worse when i was 15 but not it's not so bad just every once in a while. don't go overboard with the skin products it will destroy your skin eventually.
